NBA Rumors: Houston Rockets Gearing Up To Trade For Dwight Howard

The Houston Rockets seem to take the cake when it comes to NBA rumors.  They are always one of the most active teams in trade talks and it looks like they are trying to make a move for Dwight Howard.  The Rockets have long needed a superstar and they are wiling to make a bunch of moves to get him.

In order to pull this off, the Rockets would probably move Kyle Lowry to a lottery team for a draft pick.  They would also need to pick up another top 10 pick.  With two high draft picks and some interesting pieces, they could overwhelm the Orlando Magic before the draft happens.

Houston does not care that Howard may not sign an extension.  They feel that if they get D12, they can convince him to stay.  If the Rockets are able to make a run once they get Howard, that would be the best way to convince him.  Plus, he would be able to sign for more money in Houston.   Smart move by the Rockets if they are able to pull it off.

The NBA Draft is on Thursday, so the NBA rumors are going to heat up considerably in the next couple of days.  A lot of players could be on the move as teams try to move up in the draft.  Some players that were deemed untouchable will be on the move.  However, Dwight Howard is still the biggest piece of all and the Rockets would win the draft if they acquire him.

Archie Goodwin Hits Epic Game-Winning Three

The Phoenix Suns are legit playing without five or six important members of their rotation currently, so guys who don't normally make the highlight reels are getting an incredible amount of playing time. This is the case for Archie Goodwin, who started at point guard in Brandon Knight's absence and hit this improbable three with time running out to cement a 98-95 win. Things haven't been go swimmingly in Phoenix this season, so it was awesome to see Suns fans and players alike enjoy this hard-fought win.

Rondo Perfectly Guesses Atlanta's Final Play

Say what you will about Rajon Rondo, but there's no way to deny that he's an incredibly smart basketball player. Last evening against the Atlanta Hawks, the Sacramento Kings were up by three points with 1.9 seconds left, and Atlanta had one final possession to tie things up. Rondo immediately recognized the play the Hawks had drawn up and directed DeMarcus Cousins to an empty space on the floor where the Hawks were planning to send a player to take a three. Rondo's smarts made the Hawks botch the play, and the Kings held serve for the win.
