The Houston Rockets are still dealing as they have traded Samuel Dalembert and the 14th pick in the 2012 NBA Draft to the Milwaukee Bucks for the 12th pick, Jon Brockman, Shaun Livingston and Jon Leuer. This deal should give the Rockets more flexibility to make future moves.
Everyone knows the Rockets are after Dwight Howard. They have tried to pick up pieces to trade for him but that might not be possible. However, they did increase their pick level and they added some cheaper pieces. All in the name of flexibility I guess. I am interested to see where this goes as of now. Samuel Dalembert was the only center on the roster, so another move has to be coming.
I am not sure that this sets them up to trade for Howard, but they could be after a different player. Could they go back after Pau Gasol? Maybe. I am not sure how that would work since he has a giant salary. This is certainly a team to keep an eye on as we move closer to the draft.
This is only just the first move of the day. Expect more trades to come in as people try to set themselves up to make a splash in the draft. This move might just put other things into motion. Samuel Dalembert was involved in a bunch of rumors so I am not shocked to see him moved
Like I always say, this is a great time to be a basketball fan. Rumors are flying and teams are trying to move some of their key pieces. Samuel Dalembert was just another pawn in the giant game of chess that the Houston Rockets are playing.
