NBA Rumors: Kevin Martin Will Not Re-Sign With Houston Rockets, Could Be Traded
The Houston Rockets have been all over the NBA rumors lately and this latest one involves shooting guard Kevin Martin. The guard will not re-sign with the Rockets, which means he could be shipped out before or during the 2012 NBA Draft.
Rockets shooting guard Kevin Martin is also a possibility to be dealt. He has just one year left on his contract (worth $12.9 million) and is not looking to re-sign in Houston, according to sources close to him.
People have focused on the Rockets maybe moving Kyle Lowry, but Martin could be more of an attractive piece. There are a lot of teams that need a good shooting guard and Martin fits the bill. He can create his own shot and score the rock. The league is going through a shooting guard drought per say, so Martin just might fetch a lottery pick.
If Martin gets moved for a pick, expect Dwight Howard to Houston rumors to pick up more steam. I will be shocked if Howard is still with the Orlando Magic when the season starts. He is not going to be invested in the team, so they should try to move him.
More NBA rumors are popping up by the hour. Look for the Rockets to be involved in a lot of talks over the next 24 hours. The draft always encourages moves, so I expect to see a lot more moves tonight and Thursday morning. Fun time to be a basketball fan.
