NBA Rumors: Boston Celtics Attempting To Trade In Draft Lottery

With the 2012 NBA Draft about eight hours away, the NBA rumors are picking up steam.  The latest rumor has the Boston Celtics attempting to trade up into the draft lottery.  The Celtics own picks 21 and 22, but apparently see someone in the lottery that they want to draft.

I thought Boston would be fine at 21 and 22, as they would able to pick up Royce White and some perimeter help but there must be a prospect they feel is more important.  I have the sneaking suspicion that Austin Rivers, the son of head coach Doc Rivers, could be in play if the team trades up.  I have no factual evidence to back that up but consider it a hunch.

Expect more NBA rumors to pop up throughout the day.  It seems that no team is happy with where they are drafting.  I find this draft to be fairly deep, so sacrificing extra picks to move up a couple of spots sounds like a bad idea.  If I was in charge of the Celtics, I would stand pat with those picks.  A trade up at this time would be a waste of a pick.

The draft is going to be one of the most entertaining parts of the offseason this year.  There will be a lot of moves and a lot of trades.  Expect teams to try drop salary while improving their team.  It makes for a varied amount of rumors and a lot of fun for fans.
