The 2012 NBA Draft is over, which means it is time for some free agency talk. The start of free agency is on July 1st, so I thought it would be a perfect time to rank my top 10 NBA free agents. It is a mixture of restricted and unrestricted guys and they all play a big role for their teams.
This free agency period will be interesting, due to the big names that are up for grabs. You can certainly grab yourself a young star in the making if you are willing to spend some cash. The market is ripe with your big men that are ready to make the leap. If teams choose wisely, they certainly set themselves up for the future.
There are also plenty of veterans on the market for teams to take a look at. Although they may be on the down end of their career, a smart pickup could turn a fringe playoff team into a contender. Never underestimate the power that a calming voice and veteran knowledge can have on a young team.
I am a firm believer that you can not make your team in free agency, but you can break it. If you give a horrible contract to a batch of NBA free agents, your team is going to struggle. It is better to spend smarter than other teams. If you try to spend more, that is when your run into trouble.
