The professional career of Anthony Davis is not off to a great start. The first pick in the 2012 NBA Draft suffered a badly sprained ankle in a New Orleans Hornets workout. This means that Davis will not be able to play in the 2012 London Olympics as a member of Team USA.
With all of the players withdrawing from the Olympics, I thought Davis would have a shot of making the team. This injury will stop that from happening, which is just too bad. This means the Team USA roster is wide open and a lot of players can step up. Injuries have hit the team hard so far.
Hopefully this ankle injury is not too bad and Anthony Davis can resume basketball stuff soon. It is a shame to see top picks get hurt before they can begin playing pro ball. I expect that Davis is pretty upset about this and I bet a lot of Hornets fans are already on edge.
This is bad news for Anthony Davis and bad news for Team USA. The amount of injured players is immense. Right now, the team really does not have a center. That is not exactly a good thing. You could make a star team with all the players that are unable to play due to injury. It is insane right now and I can not remember anything like this before.
Anthony Davis should be fine, but his career is not off to a great start.
