Boston Celtics Kevin Garnett Returns: Let The Reloading Begin

The Boston Celtics got the news that they wanted to hear on Saturday. The team found out that their heart and soul was going to come back for another three seasons as Kevin Garnett agreed to a three year contract worth thirty four million dollars. The signing of KG means that Boston is not rebuilding. This signing means Boston is going into the next season looking to compete for an NBA title.

The ramifications of KG returning to Boston are huge as far as shaping the Boston Celtics roster for next season. KG makes Boston a much more attractive destination to play by bringing a championship mentality. A guy like Ray Allen that was perhaps looking to leave to maybe Miami for another shot at a ring is now all of a sudden forced to think about coming back knowing Boston is looking to win right now. Jeff Green now knows that this is a win right now situation. Supporting guys from last season like Michael Pietrus, Brandon Bass, Greg Stiemsma and Chris Wilcox are all likely looking to return to a possible winning situation. Boston also is signaling to other free agents not their own that this team is looking to get better and win a title.

The bottom line is KG is coming back to finish his career in Boston. The Boston Celtics were a few crooked calls away from an NBA Finals berth despite injuries decimating the team thanks in large part to KG. The fact is Boston should be able to reload with how close they were and KG coming back as a sales pitch. This is great news for Celtics fans because the band is looking to return. Remember Go Green Or Go Home!!!!!!
