Brandon Roy Agrees To Deal With Minnesota Timberwolves

Brandon Roy is going to be the feel good story of next season and he is going to be on a team that could surprise a lot of people.  Roy has reached an agreement with the Minnesota Timberwolves, but that could change before free agency officially ends.

I love this move for the team.  Roy gives them a guy who can actually score and they have enough people around him that he does not have to play a lot.  Brandon Roy is still one of my favorite players and he was retired last season.  His offense is part of a dying breed of basketball.  That is why he is so fun to watch.

I love this move for Roy as well.  He doesn’t have to play overwhelming minutes.  Ricky Rubio is going to be on the ball most of the time, which should help Roy and his knees.  He provides playoff experience to a team that most certainly needs it.  This should make the TWolves a sleeper in the Western Conference.

This move could break down but this makes a lot of sense to me.  If the Wolves are not going to get their main target in Nic Batum, getting a guy like Roy helps a lot.  They have the money to offer him and as long as the deal is reasonable, this will work.

I expect Brandon Roy to be loved by fans almost everywhere next season.  I know that I am wishing him the best on his comeback.

Archie Goodwin Hits Epic Game-Winning Three

The Phoenix Suns are legit playing without five or six important members of their rotation currently, so guys who don't normally make the highlight reels are getting an incredible amount of playing time. This is the case for Archie Goodwin, who started at point guard in Brandon Knight's absence and hit this improbable three with time running out to cement a 98-95 win. Things haven't been go swimmingly in Phoenix this season, so it was awesome to see Suns fans and players alike enjoy this hard-fought win.

Rondo Perfectly Guesses Atlanta's Final Play

Say what you will about Rajon Rondo, but there's no way to deny that he's an incredibly smart basketball player. Last evening against the Atlanta Hawks, the Sacramento Kings were up by three points with 1.9 seconds left, and Atlanta had one final possession to tie things up. Rondo immediately recognized the play the Hawks had drawn up and directed DeMarcus Cousins to an empty space on the floor where the Hawks were planning to send a player to take a three. Rondo's smarts made the Hawks botch the play, and the Kings held serve for the win.
