Ryan Anderson had a breakout year for the Orlando Magic last season but now he is taking his talents to the New Orleans Hornets.  The Magic agreed to sign and trade Anderson for Gustavo Ayon.  This move certainly helps the Hornets look like a dangerous team.

Anderson was getting too pricey for the Magic to keep and the Hornets will use him well.  He gets to play with Anthony Davis, a guy who can hold down the paint.  Anderson will be able to roam the three point line like he wants to do.  He and Davis should make a good in and out pairing.

If the Hornets do decide to bring back Eric Gordon, they have one heck of a little core.  Things looked bleak last season but they are forming an interesting group of players.  That is something to watch for and I expect the Hornets will surprise some teams next season.  I don’t think they make the playoffs but they will be fun to watch.

As for the Magic, they get cheaper.  Ayon could be an interesting piece.  He showed some skill last season and he might be the center for the team if they do move Dwight Howard.  He is certainly not a throw in.  He will surprise some people with his play last season.

Ryan Anderson was one of the few bright spots last season for the Magic.  Now he gets to be part of an exciting core in the Big Easy.  Not a bad two years.
