NBA Rumors: Boston Celtics Interested In Darko Milicic?

Boston Celtics President Danny Ainge always seems to see the potential that a former GM saw in a talented player (Stephan Marbury is one name that comes to mind). He also has no problems signing big men (Mikki Moore and the corpse of Jermaine O’Neal come to mind). This is why I am inclined to believe the rumor that the Boston Celtics are front runners to land the recently cut from the T- Wolves center that is Darko Milicic.

Darko has been a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT since he was drafted second overall in his draft. Despite having skills that are clearly evident, he has failed to realize even one tenth of his potential. Darko has a smooth shot and is a solid shot blocker, but in the NBA he has failed miserably to be anything that resembles consistent. He had one year with the Wolves that looked good, but he has since fallen into oblivion again. I guess this is why a guy that is seven feet in a league starving for big men cannot land a gig.

However, for Boston the move would make sense. The Boston Celtics currently have Kevin Garnett, Chris Wilcox, and rookie Fab Mello on the roster that can play center. As badly as Darko Milicic has played throughout his career, it would not hurt to have him on the roster as a third center. As evidence by the injuries last year, the Celtics would be wise to have some big men on the roster. Playing with a great coach for the first time since he has grown up a bit and hang a guy like KG in his ear might just help him finally realize some of his potential. If he decides to move without the ball like he can then Rajon Rondo will personally see to it that he has a career year. However, if he fails it is no big deal. Boston is picking him up off the scrap heap and thus are not taking any real risk. As a third center that has potential on a cheap deal, this could wield a huge reward for Ainge. Stay tuned for more on this story. Remember Go Green Or Go Home!!!!!!

Paul George is the type of player we have come to expect incredible plays from, but what he did against the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night was truly remarkable. Al Horford Emphatically Posterizes Pacers' Solomon Hill

Al Horford clearly isn't letting all the trade rumors he's been involved of late get in the way of business out on the hardwood. On Friday night against the Indiana Pacers, Horford emphatically posterized Solomon Hill with a massive dunk, and NBA aficionados nationwide lost their collective mind on the Internet.
