Washington Wizards Will Use Amnesty Clause On Andray Blatche

By Riley Schmitt

Andray Blatche is not a popular guy in Washington and will no longer be playing for the Washington Wizards.  The Wizards have decided to use the amnesty provision on the grossly overpaid and out of shape forward.  This move is a great move by the team.

Andray Blatche was once a guy who put up good numbers.  Then the man got paid.  That seems to be the big reason behind his decision to apparently not work out.  I mean, the Wizards sent him away to work on his conditioning.  Not exactly the commitment you want from a guy who is making big bucks.

I will go out on a limb and say that no one is going to touch that contract on waivers.  That means Blatche will become a free agent and someone is going to probably pick him up.  He is talented and maybe the right situation can get through to him.

This probably will not be the last amnesty use on Tuesday.  The deadline is at midnight and there are still teams that are looking to get out of bad contracts.  If teams do not use it this year, there will probably be a rush on it next year.  Some of the contracts given out before the new CBA were simply absurd.

Andray Blatche will have to find a new team but the Wizards have cleaned house of all the negative influences on the team.  They just might be the surprise time out East this year.
