Damian Lillard Throws Down Vicious Poster Dunk In Summer League Game
Damian Lillard shot up on draft boards this past year and was taken with the 6th pick by the Portland Trail Blazers. It looks like the Blazers made a great pick, as Lillard has been dominating in summer league games. Thursday, the guard threw down a vicious poster dunk on some poor defender.
I wasn’t high on Lillard coming out of college, due to the level of competition that he played. Weber State is not exactly playing the best of the best. However, he is looking like he will have a long career in the league. It is only summer league, but he’s off to a great start.
Damian Lillard fits exactly what Portland needs too. They have been looking for a point guard for a long time. Lillard just might be a guy who plays an effective point for almost 12 years. Things will have to go right but I think he will be a solid pro for a number of years.
If he keeps putting up plays like this, Lillard will be a household name sooner rather than later. The Blazers might have found a perfect guard to play alongside some of the good poster players that they have.
People knock the summer league but this is the first time that a lot of people have seen Lillard play. I consider any exposure to be good exposure, especially if he is throwing down dunks like this. Don’t let the size fool you, Lillard can jump out of the gym.
