NBA Rumors: Minnesota Timberwolves After Andrei Kirilenko

By Riley Schmitt

The Minnesota Timberwolves have been making a lot of moves this offseason and it looks like they are in the NBA rumors concerning Andrei Kirilenko.  The free agent did not play in the league last year but he is looking to return for the coming season.

Kirilenko would give the Wolves another forward after they lost out on some other targets this offseason.  He would be a good fit if he can tap into any of the talent that he once had.  Remember, AK-47 was once a threat to record a quintuple double if everything broke right.  He can’t do that anymore, but he can still help the team.

He would also be a good mentor for new guard Alexey Shved.  Shved is a rookie and is just coming over to this country.  Shved and AK are from the same country so they can both help each other out.  This move would be a great one in all senses.

If the Wolves do not plan on making a big trade for a small forward, they could do worse than AK.  A year away from the league might be good for him.  His batteries could be recharged and he could do a lot of damage.  The TWolves are a threat for a playoff spot so it would be a good fit for both the team and the player.

NBA rumors are always changing so this could change in a matter of days.  That is always the fun part.
