The Denver Nuggets Win Dwight Howard Trade By Getting Andre Iguodala

The Denver Nuggets were one of the surprise teams in the Dwight Howard deal but they may have just ended up as the team that did the best.  They traded away the contracts of Arron Afflalo and Al Harrington while picking up Andre Iguodala.  I’ll let the following tweet sum this up.

Early on, I was not so sure about how the Denver Nuggets did in this deal.  I liked the deal in terms of picking up Iggy but it seemed like they could have done more.  They end up saving their trade exception while still getting rid of the rest of the contract weight.  That is an amazing deal for a team that seems to make every more work out perfectly for them.

The Nuggets front office has been on a role since the big Carmelo Anthony trade two years ago.  They were given a lot of flack for tying up a lot of money in the deal for Afflalo but they used him to pick up Iggy.  That is a perfect example of a move that looks bad in the short team but is awesome in the long term.

The Nuggets showed a ton of potential last year and they should be even better this coming season.  They may not be the sexy team after this deal but their roster is going to be fun to watch.  They have a lot of young pieces and the roster is going to be fun to watch on a nightly basis.

If this deal does end up getting finalized, the Nuggets made out great during this deal.  They cut salary, got a player upgrade and still have assets to make another move.  Another day at the office for the great FO of the Magic.

Al Horford Emphatically Posterizes Pacers' Solomon Hill

Al Horford clearly isn't letting all the trade rumors he's been involved of late get in the way of business out on the hardwood. On Friday night against the Indiana Pacers, Horford emphatically posterized Solomon Hill with a massive dunk, and NBA aficionados nationwide lost their collective mind on the Internet.
