NBA Oklahoma City Thunder

Oklahoma City Thunder or Los Angeles Lakers? What NBA Experts Are Saying

With the Lakers acquiring marquee talent in the off-season, the major question becomes: Who is the team to beat in the West; The Oklahoma City Thunder or the Los Angeles Lakers? Lets take a look at what those around the NBA have to say:

Bob McAdoo: “We got to get there but I still feel OKC is the team to beat in the West,” the Hall of Famer said. “Everyone’s talking about how they got better but I still think (OKC) is the team to beat. They’re still
young and got experience of a championship series.”

Charles Barkley when asked,“The Lakers.” Host: Over Oklahoma City? “Yeah. I’m not a big Oklahoma City fan because I don’t think they get any easy baskets. Like last year I didn’t think they could win and the reason I picked Miami to win the championship, the only way you’re going to beat Miami is beat them up inside. That’s what their weakness is. You’re not going to beat them on the perimeter shooting jumpers with Westbrook and Durant.

The only way to beat them is the way the Mavericks beat them, with Dirk Nowitzki and Tyson Chandler down low. Unless Oklahoma City gets some low post scoring, they’re going to win a lot of games because they have two terrific players and James Harden is terrific also, but you’re not going to win the championship just shooting jumpers.”

ESPN only has 12 voters saying OKC will make the finals

But, more importantly, what Kevin Durant had to say about the Lakers getting Steve Nash and Dwight Howard:

“Nah,” Durant said. “I really don’t care.”

I think for sure we will see a Thunder and Lakers Western Conference Finals, but now the question is who will win it? My opinion still hasn’t changed: Thunder in 7.
