Here in the Brooklyn Nets‘ section we continue to breakdown the Nets’ roster for the 2012-13 season. Today we will take a look at budding Nets power forward Kris Humphries.
Humphries is known for one thing in his NBA career so far and that is being married to Kim Kardashian for 72 days. I should not know the amount of days off the top of my head but that is how relevant the American media makes Kim Kardashian. Humphries was also portrayed as a “not-so-nice” person in her show “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.” Kim’s new beau Kanye West also threw him a shout out in one of his songs “Way Too Cold.” Thankfully, Jay did not drop him from the team.
With all of Humphries ups and downs in the past year or so, there is one thing that he has kept constant while with the Nets, his game.
He has been improving every year since joining the team in a trade from the Dallas Mavericks in 2009 that sent Jason Kidd to Dallas and Devin Harris to New Jersey. you can consider Humphries as a very underrated power forward in the league even. It seems like he plays with a chip on his shoulder after all the controversy surrounding him last season. He averaged 13.8 points and 11.0 rebounds per game last season. A very pleasant surprise.
A continuation of his breakout 2011-12 season is a must if the Nets want to be a real threat this season. He will have healthy players around and him with a combined effort from Brook Lopez, the Nets could produce two of the most dominant big men in the league this season.
The media whirlwind is winding down and if Humphries keeps his head, he could be a real threat to the NBA this season.
