NBA Rumors: Chicago Bulls linked to Marko Jaric?
Veteran guard Marko Jaric hasn’t played in an NBA game since the 2008-2009 NBA season. Apparently, that isn’t stopping the Chicago Bulls from exploring the services of the veteran guard. Jaric is rumored to be working out with the Bulls in training camp, and multiple sources have the organization linked to the 33-year-old.
Jaric last played for the Memphis Grizzlies, averaging 2.6 points in just 11 minutes per game. While Jaric may be past his prime, that doesn’t seem to be an issue for the Bulls, who recently went into the luxury tax for the first time with the re-signing of Kirk Hinrich.
At 6-7, Jaric is a very oversized guard, and a solid defender. While not a great shooter, Jaric facilitated the ball when given minutes earlier in his career, averaging over five assists per 36 minutes for his career. He is also a below average free throw shooter, hitting 73 percent from the charity stripe for his career.
Jaric will look to compete for a roster spot in a thin Chicago backcourt. New additions Hinrich and Nate Robinson will run the point while former MVP Derrick Rose recovers from ACL surgery, while Rip Hamiltion and Marco Belinelli will share duties at the 2. Second year guard/forward Jimmy Butler will also figure to get more run after an impressive summer campaign.
Jaric is perhaps best known for his ridiculously attractive wife, Brazilian model Adriana Lima.
