The Philadelphia 76ers might have shocked most of the NBA this season with their amazing off-season moves and acquisitions. From picking up fan-favorite Xavier Silas to resigning Lavoy Allen there have been numerous changes in the Sixers camp. So much so, that there are only seven players returning from the original roster from before the summer. The biggest acquisition of the entire off-season is the trade involving center Andrew Bynum.

After coming from the Los Angeles Lakers in the league changing Dwight Howard trade that sent Andre Iguodala from the Sixers to the Nuggets, the Sixers found new hope in the eyes of the big guy.

Following being selected as the 10th overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft, Bynum slowly after two seasons on the Lakers rose to his start of stardom. Bynum averaged 13.1 points and 10.2 rebounds per game in the 2007-2008 NBA regular season. After that taste of stardom and an All-Star appearance, Bynum continued on his roll of being one of the best offensive producers in the low post in the entire NBA.

Bynum averages 11.7 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in 392 games played and 26 minutes seen in 7 seasons in the NBA. He’s recorded 4,597 points, 3,076 rebounds and has 119 double-doubles, 37 of which were recorded last season.

Last season, Bynum averaged a double-double totaling in 18.7 points and 11.8 rebounds a game. As he’s virtually cruising through the prime of his career, Bynum will be cemented as the main focus of offense for the Sixers. If all goes well, Bynum might go down as one of the greatest big men to ever play in a Sixers jersey.

As it stands right now, the Sixers can become one of the better teams in the Eastern Conference. But it can only happen with the help of a very big, 7-foot, 285 lb, 24 year-old, Andrew Bynum.
