The 2012-2013 NBA season is en route. The Toronto Raptors have not qualified for the playoffs the past 4 seasons. In the off-season the GM Bryan Colangelo was busy adding several pieces (hopefully) to the puzzle. Jerryd Bayless OUT…Gary Forbes OUT…James Johnson OUT…Solomon Alabi OUT.
There are several new players for Dwane Casey to work with. Jonas Valanciunas, Terrence Ross, Kyle Lowry, Landry Fields, and Quincy Acy are all new to Canada.
Here are the Player Profiles for YOUR TORONTO RAPTORS (just click on the name)
This franchise has been scuffling for years now. The Raps are just 11-20 all-time in the playoffs, but most Raps fans would just like to see (at least) a return to the playoffs. The Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls, Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets, Philadelphia 76ers, and Indiana Pacers are all likely better than the Raps are currently. That is (at least potentially) 7 of the 8 Eastern Conference playoff teams. I think the Raps could battle the Milwaukee Bucks and Detroit Pistons for the final playoff spot. It remains to be seen how the Orlando Magic and Atlanta Hawks will look, but both may take steps backwards this season.
A lot will have to break in Toronto’s favor, but I do consider them a playoff contender for the 2012-2013 NBA season. I hope you enjoy the Player Profiles, and I will be adding new articles daily.
