Stop right there. Stop the video above to the 1:00 mark. Let your mind relax, and take in what happens in that play. Eric Maynor has the ball on a semi-fast break, slows the tempo down, and finds Perry Jones III for a nasty all oop slam.

Okay. After last night, I’ll admit it, I became a big Perry Jones III fan.

He stole the show last night with 17 points, but former Syracuse Orangemen, Andy Rautins topped him with 20 points himself. The Oklahoma City Thunder won their first preseason game with a 120-98 win over the Bobcats. Phew. Got that win under the belt.

Now, for what fans can take away from the win:

1)      James Harden, Kendrick Perkins, Thabo Sefolosha, Daequan Cook, Reggie Jackson and Hasheem Thabeet, and Lazar Hayward all did not play tonight.

2)      Michael Kidd-Gilchrist was the second pick in the draft this year? I couldn’t name you one play that stood out to me. Overrated if you ask me.

3)      Andy Rautins could really stroke the ball. He shot 4-of-7 from deep, and 7 for 10 overall on the night. I kept asking myself; Who is a better shooter? Rautins or Cook?

4)      Serge Ibaka is really looking comfterable in the post and in general. He moves smoother, and is a little quicker than last year.

5)      Durant and Westbrook showed a whole lot of unselfishness last night as they shared the ball a lot. Durant had seven assists and Westbrook had four himself.
