Last night, the Oklahoma City Thunder lost to the Chicago Bulls, 94-89, and are now 3-3 in the preseason heading into tonight’s last preseason game against the Dallas Mavericks. In the loss, Serge Ibaka led all scorers with 24 points, and 8 rebounds.
However, Scott Brooks and the Oklahoma City coaching staff could take a lot out of the game. So much, that after night, it looks like DeAndre Liggins may have won that 15th roster spot.
Here are some notes that I picked up from last night:
-Ibaka looks so good in the post. Kendrick Perkins is improving as well.
-Eric Manor and Kirk Hinrich play a lot a like.
-Thabo Sefolosha had trouble following around Richard Hamilton last night.
-After the first, I tweeted:”Its preseason, but the Thunder look slow, and unsure of themselves early on. Makes you realize this team relys on Durant and Westbrook too much.”
-Reggie Jackson’s crossover on Hinrich and sweat dish to Thabeet was CRAZY. Too bad Thabeet couldn’t finish.
-Jackson forced the ball a lot last night instead of making the easy pass.
-Hasheem Thabeet looks scary good last night. Did everything, and was an absolute beast on the boards.
-Look. Its the preseason. HOWEVER, Perk looked horrible. Having trouble running the floor, and getting killed on the boards. He better start realizing his job could be at stake. Yeah, I said it.
-James Harden opened the game up shooting 1-10 from the field. Struggle, struggle, struggle.
-Harden did have a beautiful lob to Ibaka for the slam in the third quarter.
-Serge hit another three last night.
-Perry Jones III shot the ball real well last night. Mid-range game looking smootthhhh.
To conclude, last night showed that this Thunder team relys on Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook maybe a little too much. Perkins and Harden didn’t look good last night, Jackson may have lost his chance as the backup point guard, and Thabeet looked real good. I mean real good.
