The Thunder Look Like The Thunder In A Win Vs The Blazers

That my friend; is Thunder basketball.

Last night, the Oklahoma City Thunder got their first win of the season with a 106-92 win over the new look Portland Trailblazers. Russell Westbrook led the Thunder with 32 points, Kevin Durant had 23 points, and “the new guy”, Kevin Martin had 19 points himself.

Last night, the Thunder looked like the Thunder.  Setting stagger screens for Durant, pushing the ball up the floor and getting easy transition buckets, forcing turnovers, and playing usual Thunder basketball. Questions and critics saying Oklahoma City doesn’t have a third option now with the loss of Harden, were eared as Kevin Martin came in and play outstanding tonight on both ends of the floor.

Here are the main takeaways from last night:

-Two night ago, the Thunder held the Spurs to 86 and then, tonight,  the Blazers to just 92 on 36 percent shooting.

-KD’s numbers were insane tonight: 23 points, 17 rebounds and seven assists(MVP….MVP….MVP)

Nick Collison’s dive to save a loose ball late in the fourth quarter was the best moment of my life. Loud city loved it.

Jeremy Lamb came into the game for the last minute or so and buried a deep three ball. Statement?

-Am I the only one who is comparing Damian Lillard to Russell Westbrook? Same baby face, both number 0, and they play extremely similar.

Perry Jones III fit into the rotation last night. Didn’t play too well, but it was good to see him in the game.

-Next up is the Hawks at home on Sunday night. See you then.
