Gameday Stats: Raptors vs Timberwolves

Tom Szczerbowski-US PRESSWIRE

Gameday! You know around here we do Gameday Stats every time the Toronto Raptors (0-2) have a game. The Raps have lost two close games which is surely disappointing, but today should be the first win for the Raps in their 2012-13 campaign.

The  Raps are 20-12 all-time vs the Minnesota Timberwolves (1-0)

The last time the Raps opened 0-3 was the 2005-06 season.

The Raptors avoid Kevin Love today as he is out for a while with a hand issue. In his career, Love averages 16 points and 10 rebounds vs the Raps.

The Raps have struggled in their history on the 2nd game of back-to-back scenarios. Under Dwane Casey they are 3-16 in the 2nd game. Yikes.

Last season, Amir  Johnson went off for 19 points and 11 rebounds at home vs  Minny.

Andrea Bargnani has had a ton of success vs Minny. In his career he averages 19.1 points per game vs them (Bargs only scores more vs the Miami Heat and Phoenix Suns).

Landry  Fields is just 1 for 9 from downtown in his career vs Minny.

Jose Calderon had a franchise-record 19 assists in a home win over the T-Wolves just over a year ago (Calderon also had 19 assists a few years ago vs the Chicago Bulls, and back in the day Damon Stoudamire also had a 19 assist game).

DeMar DeRozan averages a dozen points per game vs Minny.

Casey got his first head coach gig with the Minnesota franchise. He was at the helm for 1.5 seasons and had a 53-69 record.

The T-Wolves have failed to qualify for the playoffs in eight-straight seasons.

Minny is trying to rejuvenate the careers of Brandon Roy and Andrei Kirilenko. Roy has a history of torching the T-Dot to the tune of 23.4 points (his highest average vs any NBA team). AK47 averages 12.5 points and six rebounds vs the Raptors.

This is the road opener for the T-Wolves. In their only game this season, they had fantastic distribution. Nine T-Wolves scored seven points or more.
