Indiana Pacers are Embarrassing Themselves

Even though the Indiana Pacers (3-6) have lost five straight games on the road, there was a silver lining through the frustrations. Throughout the losses and sub-par performances, this young Pacers team was fighting from wire to wire, keeping games close for the most part. Those frustrations have officially come to a head.

One day after losing a home game to the 1-6 Toronto Raptors, Indiana traveled to play the Milwaukee Bucks, and got totally blown out of the arena. Although the Toronto game came down to a final shot, there were only three lead changes, and the Pacers only put up 72 points. In Milwaukee, there were no lead changes. The Pacers were down by as many as 18 points in the first quarter, and it simply got worse from there.

I will spare Indiana Pacers fans from the gory details, but there is no doubt that this team looks unpolished, unmotivated, and flat. At any time during these losses, you can look on the bench to see an array of slumped shoulders and hangdog expressions. This kind of play, and especially this kind of attitude and posture, is unacceptable. The Pacers have had a hard time getting fans in the seats at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on a regular basis, and if things don’t change soon, then Indiana will find themselves playing to an empty house.

Things get no easier for the Pacers this weekend, as they return home to play the Dallas Mavericks on Friday, then travel to play the undefeated New York Knicks on Sunday.
