Magic Johnson is extremely vocal about the Los Angeles Lakers. You always know what the legend thinks about the team but his take on the coaching search is something that really needs to be seen to be believed. He is apparently upset that Phil Jackson is not coaching the team, as seen on his Twitter account.
RT @magicjohnson The reason I haven’t tweeted in 2 days is because I’ve been mourning Phil Jackson not being hired as the Lakers head coach.

So that is fairly interesting if you ask me. I am sure that Johnson could have had coach input if he really wanted to. If you do not think that Magic is still involved with the team, you are fooling yourself. He has more input with that franchise than most people would like to believe.
However, I am not sure if I really believe him. I think mourning might be too strong of a word to use in this instance. He is a coach that still happens to be alive. He didn’t suddenly die in a tragic accident. Maybe Magic just likes being dramatic for the heck of it.
We will see if the Lakers not bringing in Jackson was the right call. I personally think it was a mistake to not hire him but I do not have any input in basketball decisions. It seems to me that he would bring the right brand of coaching to those superstars. If the Lakers fail, you can bet people will start clamoring for him again.
