Memphis Grizzlies’ Marc Gasol Not Focusing On Just One Game

Plenty of talk has centered around the San Antonio Spurs being fined $250,000 by the NBA for resting their star players during ahead of Saturday night’s showdown with the Memphis Grizzlies. Is it worth it for the Spurs?

Well, the Grizzles, including center Marc Gasol and forward Darrell Arthur are trying to downplay that aspect of the game.

“ We just have to go in there and have the mindset of going to win the game. We got to get our game plan going. It is going to be a battle,” Arthur said.

“It will be a good game. We had a game tonight, and we got another one tomorrow. The NBA is not going to stop tomorrow night. We are just going to keep going,” Gasol said.

Forget about the Spurs’ troubles. The Grizzlies have a very fine basketball team, as was evident in Friday’s 90-78 victory over the Detroit Pistons. They are now 12-2 and can be considered among the league’s best teams.

But the game against the Spurs got some extra hype, thanks to Gregg Popovich.

“We just have to go in there and have the mindset of going to win the game,” Arthur said. “We have got to get our game plan going. It is going to be a battle.”
But after the battle with the Spurs is over, Gasol likes to point out that there’s plenty of games left on the schedule.

“We had a great homestand,” Gasol said. “We had a great month. We have to keep going…we still got a lot of room to grow. We got to keep working towards our main goal.”
