Klay Thompson keeps giving Golden State Warrior fans reason to think this could be one of their best seasons in many years.

In Wednesday’s 104-97 NBA win over the Detroit Pistons, Thompson scored a season-high 27 points and drilled in five three-pointers in the third quarter, which favored the Warriors 39-23.

“It was huge,” Thompson said. “We were so unselfish and we kept the tempo and started playing at our pace. We played a little bit of their pace in the first half. We started the third quarter, we were getting fast break points and getting early offense and we shared the ball really well.”

Thompson’s shooting has especially been impressive for Golden State. Against the Pistons, he was 9-of-13 from the floor and 5-of-8 from the free-throw line. He was 4-of-4 in shooting.

“I was making a lot of shots before the game and my teammates found me and I just played catch and shoot,” he said.

Just as impressive for Thompson has been the way he handles the ball. He had no turnovers and two steals against the Pistons. He had only one turnover the previous game against Orlando.

His shooting percentage is a decent 39 percent, but that’s probably one stat Thompson would like to see improvement in for the rest of the season. He is at around 43 percent for his career.

He would also like to improve on his 34 percent in three-pointers, 39 percent in his career.

An improved Klay Thompson should make things interesting for the Warriors.
