Andrew Bynum Is Done As A Dominant NBA Player

Andrew Bynum has gone from being the potential face of the Philadelphia Sixers to the biggest joke of the league. Skip Bayless of ESPN First Take confirmed that he spoke with a Sixers ‘inside source’ who said, “Bynum’s knees are unfixable,” Bayless said. “His knees are shot. He will attempt to play and may have one or two decent games over the next year or two.”

However, Bynum struck out with me far before this “knee update” surfaced.

Strike One: Refusing Kareem Abdul-Jabber .

Kareem worked with Bynum from 2005 to 2009 when Bynum suddenly decided he no longer wanted Jabber’s services. You’re a big man in the NBA and you refuse help from one of the best centers to ever lace up a pair of sneakers?

“When I first started working with him, he was eager to learn. He appreciated me shortening the learning curve. Once he figured he did everything he wanted to do in terms of learning, he didn’t want me to bother him.” Kareem said per AP.

The league’s leader in points and founder of the infamous sky-hook is willing to dedicate his time and effort so you can improve your game; and all the sudden he’s bothering you? Strike one Bynum.

Strike two: Lack of Commitment.

Bynum is not known for his work ethic. This is a man who would rather try the new Sonics milkshake and hang at Dave & Busters than be in the gym. Bynum’s lack of dedication and commitment to his body might be part of the reason his knees are failing him. When you’re out of shape you’re more prone to injury. Kareem also also questioned Bynum’s commitment.

“Andrew is up and down. There are times he wants to play, do a great job and he goes out and does it. Then there are other times where its seems like he’s not focused,” Kareem told AP.

Bynum often looks disinterested like a child whose being forced to eat their vegetables. How can you expect the Sixers to pay you 100 million over the next 5 years, but you suffer from basketball ADD? That’s Strike two Andrew.

Strike three: The Afro.

Bynum’s ever growing afro has made more headlines than his game (or lack thereof). It was the “fro heard around the world” when Bynum showed up to a recent Sixers game looking like Mushroom from Super Mario Brothers. Pictures of Bynum’s flattened afro went viral.

Per the Delaware County Daily Times: “How much higher can the afro grow? ‘Oh man, I want it to go forever, man. Why flatten it like Dora the Explorer that one time? ‘It wasn’t Dora, man. It was ‘Pimp Named Slickback’ (a character from The Boondocks cartoon).'”

A Pimp Named Slickback? You’re knees are mush and your making reference to cartoon characters? It’s clear Bynum cares more about being funny and goofing around than he does about returning to the game of basketball. Bynum knew that his flattened afro would spark attention, and that’s why he did it. No one was focused on the game instead they were focused on this man’s afro. Strike three.

It’s clear to me that Bynum doesn’t care about playing basketball. He’s content with sitting on the sidelines and creating his own headlines. Much like Andrew’s knees I’m done with him.
