Kevin Love Should Be Looking For New Address In Two Years

It has been a rough season for the Minnesota Timberwolves and star player Kevin Love, who made comments this week criticizing the organization about the direction the team is heading. I have to say that Love is on the mark with his thoughts and shouldn’t apologize for it.

Love got a four-year extension instead of a max five-year deal and for a player who has easily become the new Kevin Garnett in Minnesota, that’s nearly insulting. I’m almost shocked that Love doesn’t want out of town at this point. Ricky Rubio is a nice player for Minnesota but Love is the player that the organization needs to be taking care of the most right now. If it was possible to give Love a maximum deal, then the team should have done it instead of going a year less. Love can opt out of his deal in two years and probably will to find a team that will cater to his talents.

I wouldn’t be shocked at all if the Los Angeles Lakers or Los Angeles Clippers took a long look at Love if he became available since Love did go to UCLA and would be close to home. I can only imagine the combination of Blake Griffin and Love for the Clippers. There would be a dunk show every night and with Love’s ability to shoot from the outside, it would open things up even more for Griffin. It will be a couple of years before that possibility even arises, so we will have to wait on that. Until then, Love should just bide his time in Minnesota and try to lead the Timberwolves to the playoffs.
