Los Angeles Clippers Sailing Into Unfamiliar Territory

Kirby Lee USA TODAY SPORTS

Are the Los Angeles Clippers the new best team in LA? It sure looks like it. The Clippers are currently on a 12 game winning streak, dominating the Pacific division with a record of 20-6, and proving to everyone that this team is a true play-off contender.

Once the Los Angeles Lakers brought in Dwight Howard and Steve Nash, they were immediately labeled the super team. Almost everyone thought the Lakers would be the favorite’s to win the West and be title contenders, but so far, it doesn’t look that way at all.

The Clippers are stealing the show, taking the spot light, and are showing everyone who’s boss.

The Clippers are the best team in L.A. right now.

First up, the Clippers have Chris Paul, who is arguably the best, if not, the best point guard in the league right now. Paul is filling the stat sheet, averaging 16 points per game, 9.4 assists per game, and 3.7 rebounds per game. He is one of the most talented point guards in the NBA. This all-star can do so much. He is a great leader and he can both shoot and pass extremely well. CP3 is a huge asset to this Clippers team and without him, the Clippers would not be where they are right now.

We have seen a lot of improvement out of this team, from Blake Griffin to DeAndre Jordan. Yes, these two guys are still performing incredible dunks, but in addition, they are improving their overall game as well, which is crucial, especially when it comes play-off time.

The bench production this season has been huge for this team. Jamal Crawford, Eric Bledsoe, and Matt Barnes have been contributing to help this team win games. Crawford is averaging 16.1 points per game, Bledsoe 9.3, and Barnes 10.1.

The Clippers are the perfect mixture of youth and veterans. This team is athletic, fast, and is full of energy.

Chemistry is one of the most important keys to the game, if not the most important. This team is 3rd in the league in assists per game at 23.2, and we all know Paul loves to lob it up to his favorite target, Griffin. Just from watching this team play, we can tell they enjoy playing with each other.

The two words, lob city, say it all. This team is full of entertainment, excitement, and energy. They are one of the most exciting teams to watch.

This team has something special and there is no doubt in my mind that the Clippers are true contenders.
