The Boston Celtics have a big game on Christmas Day as they travel to Brooklyn to take on the Nets.  The Celtics certainly have not had much success against them as they are currently 0-2 on the year versus Brooklyn.  They were dominated the last time they met as the Nets had a convincing win over the green in Boston.

The Nets have been the flavor of the NBA for much of the season since about three weeks ago which has seen them go into a complete tailspin.  Since December first they have gone 3-8 and have seen their division lead evaporates.  Now since it is only the middle of December, that doesn’t matter much.

The Celtics have a prime opportunity to go into the Barclays Center tomorrow and defeat a struggling team just like themselves.  They have to execute much better against the Nets on both ends of the floor.  Paul Pierce will most likely guard Joe Johnson and Rajon Rondo will most likely be on Deron Williams.  Those match-ups practically negate themselves as both match-ups are almost exactly even. The key will be Kevin Garnett on Brook Lopez.  Lopez dominated KG in the last meeting and is a tough guard because of his strength advantage on Garnett.  Jeff Green could be the type of player that has a good game tomorrow as the Nets do not have a clear guy that will be expected to guard him for the game’s entirety.

The Celtics have a good opportunity to steal a road win tomorrow and get their road trip off to a great start.
