Merry Christmas for the Boston Celtics?

What do the Boston Celtics need to have a Merry Christmas? They head to take on the Brooklyn Nets tomorrow, and in their first two meetings this season they have failed to get a win.

The team will have to play better as a whole, but Paul Pierce and Rajon Rondo have to be instrumental players in this game if the Celtics want to pull out a win on NBA Christmas.

In the last match-up between these two teams, Rondo was ejected from the game after an altercation with the Nets’ Kris Humphries. Rondo played less than 18 minutes in that game and was obviously missed by the Celtics.

If Rondo can put up numbers tomorrow, he will help gravitate the team and lead the Celtics to a win.  Pierce can feed off his energy, and will hopefully give the Celtics their first win against the Nets this season.

Joe Johnson of the Nets will need to be stopped offensively to help give the Celtics a better chance at a win. The Nets have been exposed by many other teams, like the New York Knicks, and if the Celtics can step it up they have a chance as well.

The Celtics’ bench will have to be able to step up this game; unlike they did back in November. Jared Sullinger had only 6 points in his almost 15 minutes of playing time.

Even in a rebuilding phase, the Celtics are finding ways to win games. It is going to take a lot of work from each guy every night if they want to make it back to the Eastern Conference Finals.
