New York Knicks Should Look To Trade Amar’e Stoudemire
It has been a trying early part of the season for the New York Knicks’ Amar’e Stoudemire who missed the beginning of the year after knee surgery. Stoudemire returned on New Year’s night off the bench for New York with six points in 17 minutes as the Knicks lost. I do think that the Knicks are lining up a way to trade Stoudemire sooner than later though.
New York has started great without him to start the year and has proved that they probably don’t need Stoudemire around to be successful. If there was a way for the Knicks to get something worthwhile back in return, the team should jump all over that chance. Stoudemire is overpaid if he is going to just come off the bench like he is to start with off the injury. It is a tricky situation with New York being 21-10 right now and with a five-game lead in the Atlantic Division.
I would think about moving Stoudemire to a team like the Los Angeles Lakers for Pau Gasol but the Lakers have played much better since Steve Nash returned so a trade there isn’t likely. There has to be a team that would want Stoudemire and his contract just to get a superstar or a second one on their team for a potential long playoff run. The Knicks just don’t seem like a fit anymore for Stoudemire and the time has come to move him out of town before he gets hurt all over again and he can’t be moved at all. It sounds just too easy to me.
