Kobe Bryant Finally Joins Twitter
It has been a long time coming, but Kobe Bryant is finally on Twitter. A lot of fake accounts have popped up over time, but the Los Angeles Lakers star is verified and everything. A few minutes ago, he sent out his first Tweet from his own account.
The antisocial has become social #mambatweets

Kobe has tweeted from some Nike accounts before but this marks his own official account. However, I am kind of disappointed that he ended up getting one. He was one of the few remaining members of the old guard. He was a star who did not need to be on social media. He was more concerned about his team and about winning basketball games. Nothing wrong with that, but it feels like that may change a bit now.
At least the account is going to be off to a good start. The last thing we need is another star to have a heavy PR based account. Kobe is the type of guy that will let you know what he thinks about something. It might get him into a bit of trouble online, but that type of voice is refreshing. He will bring some realism to the site and he might have some wonderful basketball insight to show.
I know this seems like kind of a dumb story, but Twitter is growing at a rapid rate. It is becoming a one stop shop for all sorts of news. Having a guy like Mamba on it is only going to increase the basketball pull of it.
