When the New York Knicks played the New Orleans Hornets earlier this season, the Hornets were without two of their best players while the Knicks were near full strength.

On Sunday at noon, the Knicks will be hosting a different Hornets team that now has their best offensive and defensive players back healthy in Eric Gordon and Anthony Davis. Gordon is averaging 15.7 points in the six games he’s played in this season

The Knicks on the other hand will be without Raymond Felton, Rasheed Wallace, Marcus Camby and Iman Shumpert, who is expected to make his season-debut on Thursday in London against the Detroit Pistons.

It looks like the Knicks are going to use a starting five featuring Jason Kidd, James White, Carmelo Anthony, Kurt Thomas and Tyson Chandler. The Hornets will match with Greivis Vasquez, Gordon, Al-Farouq Aminu, Davis and Robin Lopez.

The Knicks (23-13) are currently in the middle of three-game losing streak, while the Hornets (11-25) have won four straight.

“We definitely don’t want to lose. We’ve got to bounce back, take it one day at a time, one game at a time,” said Anthony. “Sunday is our next game, New Orleans, and that’s a game that we have to go get. It’s a must-win.”

A key matchup in this game will be how the Knicks plan to defend the 6’6’’ Vasquez. Kidd stands in at 6’4’’, but White and Ronnie Brewer may get that assignment and allow Kidd to have an easier task in Gordon who is still recovering from his knee injury.
