Nikola Vucevic Key Part in Orlando Magic’s Win Over Indiana Pacers With Eighth-Straight Double-Double

As expected, this year has not gone the way the Orlando Magic were hoping it would as they entered Wednesday’s game against the Indiana Pacers riding a six-game home losing streak. However, they received a rare win on Wednesday against the Pacers thanks to the presence of Nikola Vucevic.

The center came up big in Orlando’s 97-86 win over Indiana as Vucevic finished with 16 points and 15th rebounds. In fact, Wednesday marked the eighth-straight game Vucevic recorded a double-double–which is impressive for any player in the NBA.

There were plenty of questions surrounding the Magic’s decision to send Dwight Howard off to the Los Angeles Lakers in the summer, but it’s hard to ignore how much of an impact player Vucevic has become this season.

If you don’t think Vucevic is capable of being impressive, just take a closer look at his performance against the Miami Heat on New Year’s Eve in which he recorded 20 points to go along with 29 rebounds.

Yes–that 29 rebounds is not a typo.

In only his second season, Vucevic is showing plenty of potential for Orlando in the future as they will most likely need another year or two before they can even be placed in the category of being contenders. If Vucevic can continue putting up these type of double-double numbers on a consistent basis–there’s no reason why he can’t quickly emerge into one of the league’s top centers at just 22-years of age.
