Good Knight: Detroit Pistons Like Guard's Aggressive Play

Detroit Pistons coach Lawrence Frank liked what he saw Sunday from Brandon Knight, and rightfully so.

Knight had 15 points, six rebounds and five assists in a 103-88 NBA victory over Boston.

“We did a great job starting off and then we let them get back in it, but we had good resolve and got it back going,” Knight said.

“Brandon had phenomenal energy,” Frank said. “Starting right there, I thought our defense in the first quarter was tremendous, which led to transition opportunities. Brandon had some very good transition attacks, a good advance pass early; obviously he had that strong finish at the rim. At times he got a little bit sped up, in terms of with the turnovers, but his heart was in the right place, very good passion with it.”

That’s great to see, but Knight has been a both Good Knight and Bad Knight throughout the season – he wasn’t perfect against the Celtics by any means, considering he committed seven turnovers.

Knight said it was a challenge to get ready for this game because the team had just come back from a game against the New York Knicks in London.

“Just getting back in the gym after getting back from London and getting that jet lag out of there and get some shots up…We got some great workouts in with the coaches and guys prepared for this game,” Knight said.

The Pistons, at 15-25, are on pace for for a 33-49 season unless Knight and other Pistons guards can be far more consistent in the backcourt.
