They have some business to take care of first.
Tomorrow the Heat begin another road trip as they head into the TD Garden to face the Boston Celtics in a matinee game.
Judging from the records of both teams, it could be easily assumed that Miami should not have any trouble with Boston. Records however mean nothing when it comes to these two teams facing each other. Whether it’s the regular season or the playoffs the Celtics have a way of bringing out the best and worst of the Heat. The latter of those two can easily happen tomorrow if Miami decides to start slow.
Luckily for the Heat, their ‘Big 3′ seems to be on a roll.
LeBron James and Dwyane Wade have been playing well in recent games. James is having is having arguably the most efficient season of his career. Wade looks to be completely healthy for the first time this season and has shaken off the slow start he had. Chris Bosh has also been playing better after he was scrutinized for contributing to Miami’s rebounding woes. All three players have been selected to the 2013 NBA All-Star Game with James and Wade as starters and Bosh as a reserve.
The Heat will also have Ray Allen coming back to Boston for the first time since he signed with the team last offseason and facing the Celtics for the second time as a member of the Heat.
Those factors could become motivation for Boston given their season so far.
Rajon Rondo, Kevin Garnett, and Paul Pierce have seen better days in Boston. Age and injuries have plagued the team throughout the season and have them facing the prospect of possibly missing the playoffs. While Rondo and Garnett have also been selected as All-Star starters, Pierce was not selected as an All-Star for the first time in five years. Couple that with the fact that the Celtics are coming off a humiliating double overtime loss to the Atlanta Hawks Friday night where they let a 27 point lead slip away and you may have a team that is looking to take out their frustration on an opponent.
The Heat are looking at a wounded animal in the Celtics tomorrow, those are the most dangerous kind. If Miami isn’t careful they might get hit in the mouth by a Boston team that knows how to beat them.
That has to be avoided.
