Royce White Gets Another Chance From Houston Rockets

Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

The story of Royce White had another turn Saturday when the Houston Rockets ended their suspension of White and assigned him to the D-League. White must have made some assurances to the Rockets that he will be able to handle things in the D-League for Houston to bring him back. Hopefully Houston also has made promises to White about helping him with his anxiety but this is a positive step.

This is probably the last straw for White and the Rockets in their relationship. White has to do what is necessary now to continue his playing career even with the anxiety problems. Houston should be getting White the help he needs as well and it sounds like things have been patched up at least for right now. White is a great player which is why Houston took him in the first round but now White has to prove himself all over again. If he can tear up the D-League, the Rockets could use White in the second half of the season to make a playoff run.

I think the whole White situation has brought anxiety to the forefront which is a great thing to see. There are millions of people who suffer with anxiety and depression on a daily basis and maybe the discussion about that will allow others to seek the help that they need. If White can bounce back and have a good career with Houston, it should show other people with the same disorder that they can make similar changes in their life to be successful.

Harden, Wade Ice Game For Their Team in Final Min

Two of the best shooting (if not the two best) guards in the game both put their clutch gene on display last night. Within a few minutes of each other, Dwyane Wade and then James Harden both hit step-back jumpers in the final minute of the 4th quarter that iced the game for their team.

Josh Smith Fakes Dirk Nowitzki Out of His Shoes

Josh Smith has returned to the Houston Rockets via trade, and he made the most of his first game back. He scored 16 points off the bench, including this drive on Dirk Nowitzki that made Smith look like Hakeem Olajuwon. Could Ty Lawson and Josh Smith be the spark duo off the bench that rejuvenates this Rockets team?

James Harden Filthy Crossover, No-Look Assist

With the Houston Rockets down by two and needing a bucket to tie the game in overtime, James Harden went to work. Step 1: dirty crossover and blow by your opponent; Step 2: No-look, behind-the-back pass to setup the easy lay-in from Dwight Howard. Magical.
