Toronto Raptors Need Ed Davis to Continue Increasing Production
This year has not been going the way the Toronto Raptors would have considering they’re just 16-28 heading into Monday’s game against the Golden State Warriors. There’s still plenty of basketball left to be played over the second half of the regular season, but if the Raptors have any chance of turning things around soon–they’re going to need Ed Davis to continue playing at the level he’s been playing at over the last couple of weeks.
For a player averaging just 9.7 points per game and 6.6 rebounds per game this season, Davis has seen his production go up as of lately as he’s reached double digits in scoring in 14 of his last 15 games. Davis is in the middle of his third season with Toronto and for a team that lacks in star players to begin with, Davis is in the perfect position to make a name for himself when it comes to standing out from the rest of his teammates.
It may sound crazy, but there’s no reason why the Raptors still can’t turn things around with all of the time left in the regular season. The production has been impressive as of lately and if Toronto has any chance of turning things around, Davis is going to need to continue his recent hot streak from at least a scoring perspective.
Scoring double digits in 14 of the last 15 games may not be anything to brag about for most players in the NBA, but for a player like Davis–it’s certainly a big deal.
