Zach Randolph Continues to Be Double-Double Machine For Memphis Grizzlies

With the trade deadline just a few weeks away, the Memphis Grizzlies could be one of those teams making numerous moves as they look to make another run at the playoffs. The Grizzlies have been linked to numerous players that could be on the move, but there’s certainly one player that doesn’t need to be traded before the deadline–Zach Randolph.

Despite Sunday’s disappointing 91-83 loss to the New Orleans Hornets, the team has to be impressed with another strong performance by Randolph as he finished with 20 points to go along with 13 rebounds. In fact, Sunday marked the 28th time this season Randolph recorded a double-double–which actually leads all players in the NBA.

Randolph is one of the main reasons why the Grizzlies are in the position they’re in as they currently sit in the No. 4 seed in the Western Conference standings and how far this team can go in the shoulders will rely heavily on his shoulders. It’s understandable that Memphis would want to make changes over the next few weeks to give them the best chance of making the playoffs, but trading a player as talented as Randolph would be nothing but foolish.

Randolph is basically a double-double machine each time he steps foot on the floor and is the main reason why Memphis has seen as much success as they have over the years. Changes may need to be made, but the team needs to be smart and hold on to their star in Randolph instead of trading him.
