Last week, everybody was wondering whether or not it was time for the Los Angeles Clippers to be concerned over the status of Chris Paul–who has been battling a knee injury over the last few weeks. At first, it seemed like Paul would only miss a couple of games, but now–it appears the star point guard will miss yet another game on Wednesday against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Wednesday will mark the fifth-straight game Paul has missed due to the knee injury and even though the Clippers won their previous game against the Portland Trail Blazers–they were riding a four-game losing streak before then.
In other words–Paul’s absence is beginning to show its true value to the lineup.
When healthy, Paul is arguably one of the best point guards in the league as he’s capable of making passes most guards in the league can’t and has been a key factor to their success so far this season. It’s understandable that Los Angeles is being an extra cautious over Paul’s injury considering he has a history of knee problems in the past, but it’s difficult not to wonder how much they should be concerned over this latest injury.
The fact that Paul has been sidelined for this long when it was originally expected to be one or two games may be a reason of concern and hopefully he can return sooner rather than later. Each game Paul misses is another chance the Clippers could miss out on when it comes to being one of the top teams in the Western Conference–so let’s hope that knee heals really fast.
