New York Knicks Have Potential To Knock Off Miami Heat

The New York Knicks have proved this season that they are a team to be reckoned with in the NBA and even after a loss on Wednesday night, New York may be the only team in the Eastern Conference that can make a run at the Miami Heat. The Knicks are 31-16 after the loss, and lead the Atlantic Division by three games right now. It is very possible that New York ends up with the No. 2 seed in the playoffs in two months. If that were to occur, I think the Knicks could make life very difficult on the Heat.

The combination of Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudamire give New York an edge at the power forward position while Jason Kidd and Raymond Felton should be able to control whatever Miami could do from the outside. I think Anthony matches up very well against LeBron James, and would cause him fits. Miami should really hope that they don’t have to see the Knicks in the playoffs because it could end very badly for them.

This is the first time in a long time that the Knicks are a real threat to get to the NBA Finals, and the only team really in their way is the Heat. If Anthony can slow James down and the guards stop Dwayne Wade, that series would likely last six or seven games, and I’m not sure that Miami would advance.
