James Harden Must Make Houston Rockets Proud During All-Star Game

The Houston Rockets will get the opportunity this weekend to be on center stage for the entire National Basketball Association world to see during the All-Star Game. There is no doubt that one player needs to make sure he gets well into the spotlight in James Harden. Harden has helped the Rockets average the second-most points in the league going into play on Monday and will be there to play for the Western Conference on Sunday. Harden must make it a point to show off what he can really do in his home arena.

This is a game where Harden needs to take every shot he can and do everything in his power during a game with no defense to try to score 20-25 points and get the Most Valuable Player award. There must be some hometown bias towards Harden if he has a great game. This is one of those times where a player has to be selfish and not worry about the team as well.

This has to be Harden’s night and I fully expect him to make it a point in the All-Star Game that he should have been a starter his whole career instead of coming off the bench. Harden is averaging over 26 points per game right now in his first season as a full-time starter. While Harden won’t start in the All-Star Game, he can reprise his old role for one night and turn up the scoring. I would be very disappointed if Harden doesn’t have a great night on Sunday with everyone in the league watching.

James Harden Teaches Defense As Poorly As He Plays It

This is an unfortunate video. James Harden appears to be doing the right thing by making an appearance at a youth basketball event, yet the example he sets while defending some of the players is comical considering how poor of a defender he is off of the NBA hardwood.

Harden, Wade Ice Game For Their Team in Final Min

Two of the best shooting (if not the two best) guards in the game both put their clutch gene on display last night. Within a few minutes of each other, Dwyane Wade and then James Harden both hit step-back jumpers in the final minute of the 4th quarter that iced the game for their team.

Josh Smith Fakes Dirk Nowitzki Out of His Shoes

Josh Smith has returned to the Houston Rockets via trade, and he made the most of his first game back. He scored 16 points off the bench, including this drive on Dirk Nowitzki that made Smith look like Hakeem Olajuwon. Could Ty Lawson and Josh Smith be the spark duo off the bench that rejuvenates this Rockets team?
