Kevin Love is one of the best players in the National Basketball Association when he is healthy. Love hasn’t been healthy for most of this season and with Love having problems already with the upper management of the Minnesota Timberwolves, it wouldn’t shock me at all if Love gets traded this offseason. There could be quite a return out there for a player who has averaged over 17 points and 12 rebounds per game. It looks to me that things are falling apart in the relationship between Love and the Timberwolves and the best solution is a trade.
Love should be able to garner a first-round pick and a solid player that makes similar money to him. I could see a team like the Chicago Bulls jumping in and offering a first-round pick and Carlos Boozer for Love this offseason. I’m not sure that would be enough to pry Love out of Minnesota but there will be a ton of teams who will try to do the same thing with their players.
Minnesota just isn’t working out for Love at this point. He is starting to look a lot like what Kevin Garnett was for the Timberwolves in being a great player on a failing team. This will end in one of two ways with either a trade of Love out of town or Minnesota actually making some free agent moves that get help for Love. Minnesota is just 19-30 this year and has had Love for just 18 of those games but this will be one of the biggest storylines this offseason.
