Hedo Turkoglu Suspended For 20 Games For Violating Anti-Drug Program
It has been a strange year for the Orlando Magic and it is only going to get stranger. Hedo Turkoglu, who has been with the team for a while now, is going to be suspended for 20 games. Turkoglu is apparently in violation of the NBA’s anti-drug program.
YOLO or something, right? RT @nbapr: ORL’s Hedo Turkoglu Suspended 20 games for violating terms of the NBA/NBPA Anti-Drug Program.

A lot of people are shocked by this and for a good reason. Hedo is one of the people that you would not expect to be a violator of this program. I mean, look at the guy. There are a lot of people making pizza jokes because they guy looks like he could lose a few pounds. The fact that he was nabbed by this program is confusing to a lot of people.
If anything, this is going to help the Magic in the race for the first pick. After having a nice start to the season, things have gone downhill fast. The team is crippled by injuries and this suspension certainly does not help. Then again, if securing the best odds for the number one draft pick is the goal, this certainly does not stand in the way.
We will see if the drug eventually comes out. It has to be some sort of PED but then again, who really knows? All I know is that Turkoglu was one of the last players that I thought would get nabbed for performance-enhancers.
UPDATE: This seems to be a good indicator. The drug apparently didn’t work.
