Is Russell Westbrook's Maturity Holding the Oklahoma City Thunder Back?

It’s no secret that Russell Westbrook has maturity issues. This was evident in his latest episode when he took it to reporters in a post-game interview.

Westbrook was asked the question by a reporter: Did you lose this game or did the Jazz win this one?

The question was not taken too kindly to by Westbrook. It was referring to the blowout loss that the Oklahoma City Thunder suffered at the hands of the Utah Jazz, ending the Thunder’s hot streak. Westbrook’s temper tantrum can be seen below.

This was not the first time Westbrook was seen losing his cool. Just two weeks ago, the All-Star point guard was seen getting into an altercation with assistant coach Mo Cheeks before storming off to the locker room.

This has many questioning if the fifth-year player has the maturity to lead this team to an NBA title. Every team needs that guy that can keep his cool and settle the rest of the team down with his leadership if things get out of control. Westbrook is not ready to be that guy right now.

Kevin Durant is that guy for the Thunder. However, he received his first flagrant foul as an NBA player the same day that Westbrook lost his cool with reporters.

Westbrook may average 22.5 points, 8.0 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game, but his maturity issues can almost trump the solid play. The Oklahoma City Thunder and Scott Brooks need him to mature soon if they want a chance to win the title.
