Sacramento Kings May Be Forced To Trade DeMarcus Cousins
There is zero doubt in anyone’s mind that DeMarcus Cousins is a talented player. There is also no doubt that Cousins can be a distraction and an irritant for any team or anyone. The Sacramento Kings are going to need to make a decision on what to do about Cousins and his antics at some point because it isn’t helping the team win games on a consistent basis. Sacramento may even have to think about the idea of trading Cousins.
Cousins has 12 technical fouls against him this season already at the All-Star break which is the most in the National Basketball Association. Cousins is putting up great numbers with over 17 points and ten rebounds per game but his attitude has to change. He said the other day that a realistic goal for this year’s team was to get to 25 wins. Sacramento is 19-35 right now so it would take only six wins to reach that goal. It sounds to me that Cousins would be happy if the team went 6-22 the rest of the way then. Those are statements you should never be making with a microphone in front of you.
Cousins is the best player on the Kings this season and for your leading player to say something like that is beyond being over the line to me. I really don’t care if he was kidding either about it. Sacramento needs to consider offers for Cousins before the trade deadline and get this guy out of town before next season when the team could be in Seattle. It is time for Sacramento to get a fresh start without a loud mouth like Cousins hanging around.
