Derrick Rose is still out with a knee injury but the Chicago Bulls superstar is getting closer to a return. However, a new wrench may have emerged in those plans. The trade deadline passed without the team doing anything and it led to Reggie Rose, the brother of Derrick, ripping the front office. He even hinted that a lack of moves could keep his brother from returning this season.
“It’s frustrating to see my brother play his heart and soul out for the team and them not put anything around him.” -Reggie Rose

Here’s the thing, though. The Bulls were blocked by the hard cap. They did not have a lot of room to maneuver around the luxury tax, which makes it hard for them to add players. They would have been fine if they did not give Kirk Hinrich such a big contract. Then again, guess who recruited Hinrich to play for the Bulls? Yes, that would be Derrick Rose.
I can see where Reggie is frustrated but no one really cares what he thinks about this. If Derrick really plans on sitting out because he is mad that the team did not add someone at the trade deadline, that is a giant can of worms to be opened. There would be a lot of people that would question Rose’s desire to come back. You don’t want to start that if you don’t have to.
Even with these comments, I expect Rose to be back this season. However, these comments are going to get a lot of play in the coming days and weeks.
