Serge Ibaka Should Be Suspended For Low Blow On Blake Griffin

Richard Rowe-USA TODAY Sports

Sunday’s battle between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Oklahoma City Thunder was a great game, but one play late turned it a bit ugly. As Blake Griffin and Serge Ibaka were battling in the post, it appears that Ibaka decided to prevent Griffin from having kids by smacking him a region no man wants to get hit in.  Because of this, Ibaka should be suspended.

Somehow, Ibaka was allowed to stay in the game.  The referees decided to rule it a Flagrant 1, instead of the more serious Flagrant 2.  However, this does not mean that Ibaka is out of the woods on this.  Expect the league to take a look at this and I would bet money that Ibaka ends up with a one or two game suspension.  Plays like that have no place in basketball or in any sport, for that matter.

I have no idea what Ibaka was thinking but it was a pretty chippy game all around.  A lot of tempers were short during play and players kept getting into each other’s faces.  Something like this was bound to happen, but I was hoping that the players would not resort to such dirty tactics.  There was a line that was crossed with that and no one wants to see that during play.

These two teams do not like each other and this would make for a heck of a playoff series this season.  I would bet it would go seven games and all of them would be great basketball.  If the teams can avoid doing stupid stuff like this, it would be something to remember for a long time.

Well, Porzingis has been nothing short of phenomenal thus far for New York, and is as polished as anyone could have hoped he would be at the young age of 20. Hornets Inexplicably Allow Durant Free Dunk

While I understand that Oklahoma City Thunder SF Kevin Durant is physically intimidating when driving the lane, the Charlotte Hornets should be ashamed of themselves for the defensive effort they put forth during this play. I mean, they didn't even try. The Hornets have made some solid strides this season, but boneheaded mental collapses like this will prevent them from continuing to build momentum.
